Cyber-Attack Disrupts Major South African Port Operations
A cyber-attack has disrupted container operations at the South African port of Cape Town.
Durban, the busiest shipping terminal in sub-Saharan Africa, was also affected. Cape Town Harbour Carriers Association said in an email to members: “Please note that the port operating systems have been cyber-attacked and there will be no movement of cargo until the system is restored.”

Russia Disconnects From Internet In Tests As It Bolsters Security – RBC Daily
Russia managed to disconnect itself from the global internet during tests in June and July, the RBC daily reported. Russia adopted legislation, known as the “sovereign internet” law, in late 2019 that seeks to shield the country from being cut off from foreign infrastructure, in answer to what Russia called the “aggressive nature” of the United States’ national cybersecurity strategy.

British Man Arrested In Spain Over Twitter Hack
Spanish police have arrested a 22-year-old UK citizen, Joseph O’Connor, in connection with the hacking of 130 high-profile Twitter accounts, including those of Elon Musk, Barack Obama and Kanye West.
He was also charged with hacking TikTok, Snapchat, and three counts of conspiracy to intentionally access a computer without authorization and obtaining information from a protected computer.
